How do you lite the pilot
There is an ignitor button that is used to lite the burner.

Can this unit be laid on its side for transportation? If so, which side?
Yes you can lay the Unique refrigerator on any side. When you get to destination, put it upright and wait 6-12 hours to start it up

Can this be modified, pilot changed, to run natural gas? I make wood gas!
No sorry it can do liquid propane and 110V AC or 12 v DC (battery). The Unique is not made to be modified to run natural gas.
